Hi, my washer stopped working and I have been trying to fix it. It turns on, but after I select the cycle and press start, it sits idle for 3-4 minutes and then flashes error codes E1 F6. I took the back panel and lower front panel off, found a broken ground wire. Soldered the broken wire back together, but am still getting the same error message. What should I try next? Thank you for your help!

That is a serial communication error. Means the mcu and the current are not communicating properly. The mcu is the board in the bottom of the cabinet or motor control board, and the current is the board up top or the central control unit. Check all wireing connections on both  boards to make sure nothing has gotten pulled loose and visually inspect both boards and wire harnesses for damage. If all that checks out then you will most likly need either a couple or mcu. You will need to be pretty handy with a meter and you will need a tech sheet which should be inside the machine usually in a clear plastic bag glued to the side of the cabinet in the bottom. If it is missing then you can upgrade your membership and download it here. Page 13 lists f6e1 at the top and will guide you to different tests to perform through out the manual.
