What's your freezer temps? Water freezes at 32f, freezer should be at 0f.  You need to test ff thermistor to see what temp it's reporting to the board.

Is there air coming through the damper when you open it? This is the heart of your problem... as previously stated, you need to check all the airways for what is blocking the flow... If all the major inlet openings are clear into the fridge section, start checking the return vent slots/holes for blockage. (this can be anything from a plastic bread bag to applesauce dumped down the return holes)

Hello Hiroshi,

I don't recall any air coming from the damper when it was opened.  But I will re-run the test to confirm.   With regards to the blockage  and the air ways.. I am assuming they are located inside the Frig?

Yes, they are inside the fridge, air travels through the machine in a semi-circular fashion, so if the damper airway is not blocked, one of the returns must be.

Hello Hiroshi and  All,

Great, I was on the right track.  So, I removed the ice machine Assembly to gain access to two rear vents.  I took my shopVac and vacuumed both vents and the vent located inside the refrigerator called the Chiller Control.  I then re-ran the damper test ; leaving the damper door open.   It's been about 15 hours since then and I just took a few temperature  reading via the Service tests available.  Here are the results:

Test 141 - Fresh Food Thermistor 73

Test 142 Freezer Thermistor -4

Test 144 Ambient Thermistor 98

Test 145 Ice Box Thermistor 48

I have yet to feel the Ice compartment fan blow air on its own.

Let me know what you think.

vacuuming the ports won't do anything... I would get a hand steamer and start blasting through openings and look for steam on the other side...

I'll have to find a a steamer.

any other option to a steamer?

hot water in a spray bottle , but a steamer is way better

Hello All,

I can confirm there is no blockage between the vents.  Please advise on next step.

Thank you

Find that steamer yet?  Take back wall out of freezer and take a pic of evaporator and shot it back to us.

I'll have to figure out how to remove the doors but I'll advise once I do

Sorry AARDL, not yet... Work has gotten in the way.

Hello all,

OK , I managed to get the door off and get to the rear panel.  Here is a pic of the rear.

Frig has been running freezer is cold enough to freeze water.  Fins on the  evaporator  has a little bit of ice droplets.

I went back to take another pic of the fins and found frost on them.  I am assuming that the frost melted when I was getting the door off.  It's 105 degrees today and more like 110+ in my garage .  Here is what it looked like 10 minute after the first pics'

Can you please advise on the next steps?

find the blockage... It has to be blocked. If you have a full frost pattern, an open diffuser door, but no cooling in the Fridge compartment there has to be something disallowing airflow. Open the diffuser and put your hand over it- no flow? Open the freezer while your hand is over the open diffuser- is there airflow now?

Thank you Hiroshi,

I will get back to you once I get home later today.
