Whirlpool Dryer GEW9868KQ3 - dryer turns but no heat.  Sensor stays on "Sensing" for 10 minutes +/- and then machine shuts off.  Lint screen inside and out cleaned.

Next step?

I would check continuity of the thermal cutoff, thermostat and heater behind the back panel. Unplug the unit first.

Also, half of the breaker can trip on 240V supply circuits, so the very first step on an electric dryer, for me, has been to reset the circuit breaker even if it doesn't appear tripped- if that has no effect- check the components Sean has suggested above... definitely with the machine unplugged... you only get one mistake with a 240V machine!

After thorough cleaning, tested sensors and had perfect continuity.  Upon further inspection found heater coil burned in 2.
