Thanks, I did notice the tube was slightly off and not 100% aligned but based on my background in aircraft maintenance I usually resist the dual failure unless one thing caused the other to fail.  But having said that maybe the new tube with the additional holes just augmented the fault.  I will make sure the alignment is correct and also have the kit Cool hand luke mentioned on hand just in case.  Well when i get done with my refrigeration course I am going to enroll in the oven/range one.  I have learned a heck of a lot so far. on a side note, was ordering an evap fan on a samsung dual system and the person at the parts house was telling me the part breakdown didn't show an evap fan for the refrigerator, only the freezer and that it had a damper.  Called BS and told them it had to have a fan for each evap and dual evaporators don't use a damper. Long story short I won the argument.

Excellent, we love hearing how students are doing in the courses!

Also, remember you have access to all the webinar recordings that dive deep into a broad variety of topics: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

I tell you there is a ton of info out there.  I often just randomly read the tech forum of items other guys have had and it has helped me out a ton.  The webinars have been great too and I have been going thru some of those.  The refrigeration course is excellent and while I am not thru it yet it has really increased my confidence, if nothing else.   From working on cars, etc. i had what I thought was a good basic understanding but now I feel real good about it.  Had an issue with a compressor on one the other day and had to figure out which was start, run and common but having taken the course I only had to stop for a minute and remember how to figure it out.  before that i would have been googling the heck out of it and still not feeling too sure about it since it is the internet.  so the way I see it, one refrigeration job has more than paid for the course.
