LG DLE5977w gas dryer runs with no heat

Our dryer stopped heating yesterday after 10 years of reliable use. So I guess it's about due for something I guess. 

I ran through the diagnostic procedures outlined in the manual, results as follows

Electric control & Temperature sensor - 19:FO (expected 18:FO - what does this indicate?)
Moisture value - rapidly climbs from 64 to 237
Motor and heater - 22
Passed all door open tests

I have the dryer taken apart ready for inspection with the main board plugged back in for testing. 

before I start testing components with the multimeter I wanted to do a quick visual inspection to see if the igniter (is this what is sometimes known as the glow coil?) glows properly. So first I need to know how to bypass the door switch so the dryer will run. Can you please explain the procedure for that.

Also, when the main panel is turned on, the CHECK FILTER light blinks. Is the filter the mesh screen that lives inside the front of the door, that you clean before every load? Or is there an internal filter somewhere? Why would this light blink, the filter is clean and its housing is mostly free of lint too. 

Thanks in advance for your patience. I will certainly need some hand holding for this little project. I managed to fix the washing machine last year so I'm capable of getting there slowly with a bit of help. I'm unemployed so if I can fix this without calling a service tech that will keep the wife happy for a while

Just tested the moisture sensor strips following the service manual routine. Jumped pins 3 and 5 and tested resistance of strips. Got a reading all over the place for a few seconds (71-20) then settled on 3.3

the manual says anything over 1 should check electro load and connector harness. I don't know what that means. Any help? Thx

Just tested the igniter for resistance. Not really sure what I'm looking at in terms of the readings so I'll do my best to describe. 

On the 200 ohm setting my meter reads 0.0 but beeps. Switching to the 2k setting my meter reads 282. At the 20k setting the meter reads 0.31

what does it all mean. Is the igniter faulty?

Here's a photo of the igniter. Upon closer inspection I noticed the tip is cracked. Damaged and faulty then? Anyone? Hello is this thing on?

 

 

Also tried to check voltage at the gas valve. Bypassed door switch, plugged moisture sensor in, plugged dryer into mains, turned on dryer, selected normal setting, pressed play button - beeped but no action. Service manual has no details and I could find nothing on the web so far how to do this. Could really use some help. Thx

Just tested both gas valve coils and they had good continuity of 1869 ohms. So that rules them out

Even though the continuity checks out? It's the ceramic tip that is cracked it the main body. Wish I could post images to this site

Thanks for taking all of the 8 seconds it took to come up with your grammatically lazy expert analysis but it turned out to be wrong. I managed, by deduction and perseverance, to get my dryer to run while the drum is out. I was able to observe the igniter glowing as it should, the gas burner fire up thus removing the igniter from the equation.

Yeah, i maybe wrong but that attitude not going to help you out much.

I bet his gas coils were wimping out 20 minutes into the cycle.

Yep

Lucky for Him the drum is optional on this model (He said it fired up when the drum was removed). He must have forced or by passed the belt switch also. 

By the way, I think the 8 second diagnosis was pretty amazing.
