Just pulled this one out of storage after 6 months - compressor and condenser fan will not run - evap fan running full speed. Has had "no cooling" issues in the past - but always seems to fix itself after a day or two.

Not this time - just plugged it in - and nothing happening. I suspect the wonderful dual digital display control board (@ $150 - Ouch) but I'm going to check for voltage at the condenser fan and at the compressor start relay - before I spend $$$ on a new control board.

Any other things to check? Condenser coil is clean enough - and I would think the compressor would start up in any case from a dead warm siesta. Compressor doesn't even try to start - no clicks, no nuthin...

OK - only 60VAC at the motor and compressor - so I started digging for the controller card. Finally got all the plastic off and got to it - the previous owner put a 60Watt bulb instead of an appliance bulb in the refig compartment - melted the light socket and deformed the controller/display card housing - Ooops. 

If I put pressure on the red power lead spade connector on the 12 volt relay on the card - the compressor and cond fan kick on and run ! I jammed a toothpick against the spade and it kept the relay engaged - but it's not permanent fix. My friend claims that he's got a source that can replace or repair the relay - I got the specs off the relay case and will see if I can find it on Mouser. Thanks for the help, people - who knew a 60W bulb could do so much damage?

that explains why only the evaporator fan was running . Great diagnostics.  Me myself , I would replace the faulty pcb and any of the electrical components and plastic that have melted.   $150.00 +  for a fridge repair cost is not a lot for a refrigerator repair and money well spent.  I also believe that control board may have been upgraded and given a substitute Number from the original control board. So you may want to consider put the replacement board in  instead of trying to repair the existing one.    I do realize thought it all depends on what's in the budget . Good luck with what ever you decide and great work.

I think you should go on with the consultation of some contractor who can repair your fridge correctly. Might be it has some electrical repair. If you want, you can contact residential electrical repair service NJ for better convenience or else can choose to go with the local contractor too. By contacting professionals, you can save a lot of time and money of yours.
