3. I have an ancient Maytag DE410 electric dryer that won't start. I have repaired it through the years but this has me stumped. I push "start" and nothing happens. - There is power - The "start" button works properly per my DMM - The "cycle" button works properly with 0 ohms when pushed, open when released - The three thermal fuses show 0 ohms - The timer switch appears to work properly. I get opens and closes on the three switches noted in the schematic when I turn the dial through the cycles. I can hear the motor and it appears to be turning - With power, the heater coil turns on when not in "fluff" cycle - The door switch works properly That got me to the motor and the centrifugal switch. How do I test this? It has the lever that activates the switch...is that lever normally down or normally up? What is the proper position and how do I test the switch paths? I have not jumped the motor directly with a patch cord. Which wires/connectors do I jump? I prefer to avoid this step if possible, but I may have to check it Any suggestions for troubleshooting this dryer? I am stumped thanks

 8. This Maytag MDB4949SDM3 has been installed since February 2017 (yes, that's right, it's just barely out of warranty - the highly touted 10 year warranty applies to the tub, chopper !) Apparently the washer pump failed partway through the cycle while I slept last night. My detergent pack was partially dissolved and my dishes were partially washed. Setting it for a "rinse" cycle this morning to test it, the clock starts counting down from 7 minutes, the supply valve opens and lets water in, and then it sits silent for about 5 minutes, and then with 2 minutes left on the clock, the drain pump kicks on and drains the tub. No error messages are displaying and there's no feedback from the control system that there's a problem (no beeps or anything.) It would seem the washer pump just doesn't turn on after the tub fills with water. Since I had to leave the house and come to work, I didn't have a chance to do much troubleshooting - i.e., haven't had a chance to kill the power for a minute to "reboot" it. What should my next troubleshooting steps be? Checking the chopper blade for something jammed in it?

 11. I need to order a tub seal kit for my Maytag Legacy Series washer but I can't find a model number on it anywhere. I've checked under the lid, on the back and behind the control panel which are the usual spots. I've also looked on each side, the front, in the tub, everywhere! It looks like there used to be a sticker on the back of control panel because there's some adhesive residue there. Anyway, I need to find a model number so I can order the right parts. My estimate is that the washer is about 10 years old. Here are some pics. http://s6.photobucket.com/user/2bucks/media/IMG_0805_zpsl4pw4zns.jpg.html

 21. I have a MAH6700AWW which was made by Samsung for Maytag. The washer will not drain. The drain pump was not getting power. Pulling the control board, I find it potted in goo, and it might be hard to go after the relay. Furthermore, there is some burnt goo in the power area of the board. The board is unobtainium. I have found other boards, like the control board for a MAH8700AWW, which the seller says will fit. But there is a different size display and the functions are different. I don't know how to configure the 8700 board to work in my model. The board I am looking for is a 34001479. Any ideas on substitutions, etc.? Thanks.

 23. I previously fixed a Maytag LAT8740AAL washer made in August 1992, Maytag LAT8740AAL won't agitate, by replacing the original WP207373 timer with a used WP207373 timer I found on Amazon. A week ago a new problem occurred. As some laundry was being washed, a loud POP was heard after which the washer stopped working, no agitation, no draining of the water, no rinse cycle and no spin cycle. We took out the clothes and drained the water by hand. I checked the belts on the bottom of the washer I also previously replaced and they appear okay. When I turn the timer dial to the wash cycle at say 4 minutes, the tub will fill with water but then stops and does not start agitating and does not advance through the wash cycle to the drain, rinse or spin cycles. I found this post from another website pertaining to a different washer model that suggests the control panel shorting out is what caused the loud POP sound. I assume that "control panel" for my Maytag LAT8740AAL means either the timer or the timer motor though this Control Panel service manual page shows other parts that may have shorted out and be the cause of the problem: Part 10, Water Level Pressure Infinite Switch, Manufacturer Part Number WP207360 Part 17, Speed Control, Manufacturer Part Number 207370 Part 23, Switch, Temperature Control, Manufacturer Part Number 207367 I opened the control panel and there doesn't seem to be any obvious damage such as burn marks or black soot on any of these parts. I think it is the timer and I did find a brand new OEM WP207373 timer for about $100 but before I buy it, I wanted to get any advice on how to diagnose which part is actually bad and needs to get replaced. Any ideas?
