Replacing the Fuse on the Main Control Board of an LG Refrigerator
Samurai Appliance Repair Man posted a blog entry in Samurai Appliance Repair Man's Blog
This LG refrigerator was DOA- warm inside, no compressor operation, no lights, no nuttin'. Found a blown fuse on the main control board. What took out the fuse: bad board or just a spike on the power line? I show how to check for that. The fuses on these LG boards are soldered in and not easily replaceable. But a new fuse can be installed and I show how to do that without even having to remove the board, while it's still installed in the refrigerator. Board Level Repairs? Washing Machine VFD failure
coryjfowler posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
Mostly just curious if anyone here has attempted any board level repairs. I am specifically looking at a GE Hydrowave motor control board which was giving me a red LED flashing 6 times after being reset a handful of times with and without the belt. The used replacement has the washer going again, but this board is the only apparent reason it failed since the motor seems fine. Can someone tell me if the service manual for a GTWN4450M1WS (https://appliantology.org/files/file/693-ge-gtwn4250d0ws-top-loading-hydrowave-washer-minimanual-and-service-bulletin-bundle/) would give me anymore information on the motor than what I have already? I really doubt a schematic of that board exists in any public capacity. I cant download it ...- 10 replies
