This is a battle I have had for years now. I stumbled into this website during my first attempt to resolve my issue but it seemed it was clearly targeting service folk. I'm back at attempting to deal with my issue some years later (last time was 2019). This website seems to be the only one that seems to have a service manual for my particular Samsung Fridge. Specifically I have: Samsung RF28HMELBSR/AA I have had to de-ice my ice maker every few weeks. I purchased a counter top ice maker and simply disabled my fridge's. Suddenly all this time later the internal fridge fan has started making lots of noise. I cannot remove the back plate to gain access to the fan and I suspect it is frozen. In many many threads/forums/ect I see references to be able to access FF or FD functions (FORCE DEFROST). The steps vary but ultimately none of them remotely close to match my 8" touchscreen that has none of the physical buttons being pressed. I am at my wits end. Is there a chance I could get some assistance? It would be great to purchase a service manual, but absent that, the ability to make use of the FORCED DEFROST mode on my Samsung Fridge.

Whirlpool freezer Mod WZF34X18DW00 freezes fine for a week or two then evaporator ices up. Internal tests run okay. There are no error codes. All suggestions appreciated. -

I have been repairing refrigerators for many years but this one has me confused. The initial problem is that the unit would not go thru a defrost, so eventually a warming freezer and fridge after about 3 days. Manually defrosting with a hair dryer brings everything back to normal. The manual defrost sequence (cycle fridge light switch 5 times within 6 seconds) does not work. After checking the defrost thermostat and heater (both checked out fine). I realized that the fridge would reset itself, like someone unplugged it and plugged it back in. The freezer and fridge temperature settings that I set on the temp control board would revert back to default settings and the fridge would beep. This seems to happen about every 2 hours when the fridge is plugged in. This resetting of the temp controls so frequently, makes me think that the defrost issue is just a symptom of a bigger problem. Before I replace the temp control board, I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and if there is a way to prove that the control board is bad. FYI - The Control board in there now is #241739710 whis is supposed to be the approved replacement for the original part # 241739702. -
KitchenAid WRF989SDAM00 has recurring problem with ice build-up on the evaporator coils, resulting in fan noise as the fan hits the ice. I want it to stop. I have melted the ice but it comes back...it used to take months between melting the ice and now it takes weeks. I want a permanent fix. As I understand it, there are 3-4 parts that could contribute to this, the defrost timer, defrost thermostat, defrost heater, or the control board. Sadly, several of these parts are out of stock at RC, so I may have trouble sourcing them. As with other older appliances (this one is only maybe 6 years old...), the parts get end-of-lifed and difficult to find. How do I test the parts to diagnose which to purchase? I can put my ohmmeter across the heater...but I need to locate the heater first. Is it clear where to connect the meter and can I do it in the freezer, or do I need to fully disassemble it? Is the thermostat the temp sensor (attached to 1"x 4" (appx) plastic with curved outside) that clips to outside the sheet metal separating the evaporator assembly from the freezer? Where is the timer located and how do I test the timer? And how do I verify it is not the control board...a very expensive part? thanks

Whirlpool Fridge Model GB2FHDXWB02 fridge warm freezer cold recurring

My whirlpool refrigerator (model GB2FHDXWB02 ) keeps having to be defrosted. We wake up one morning and the fridge is about 60 degrees and the freezer is still cold. I've defrosted it multiple times. There is always a puddle on the floor after the defrost so something was clogged somewhere. This has now become a monthly occurrence. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this? Can I flush the line with hot water? Replace the fan? From what I could find based on the serial number that starts "K1..." The appliance was built in 2011 (39th week) Years ago I replaced the condensation tube with the P-trap replacement part issued from Whirlpool. This issue is fairly recent so it seems they are not connected. Thanks very much for your help Matt -

LFUS2613LP0 Frigidaire/Electrolux defrost issue

I'm wrestling with a defrost issue with Frigidaire side by side. Had it serviced by a tech due to a drop in temp and alarm beeping. Coils were completely encased in ice. After manually defrosting, heater and defrost thermostat were tested to be within spec. Conclusion of the tech was " bad main control board". Quoted price was 300.00 plus labor. I sourced the part locally (new) and replaced it myself. Fridge came to temp quickly and held with no issues for about a week then the same symtoms appeared - back wall and coils completely iced over, obviously not defrosting. What do I look at next? -
