  1. I have a 15 something year old Kenmore 253.5569340N refrigerator that is leaking water from the ice maker. It builds up on top of the motor area and also flows onto the top glass shelf and anything stored there. I replaced the water valve this morning and it is still doing it. I did not see a leak in the icemaker when I had it out previously. Where should I check for the leak? I hate throwing money at a 15 year old fridge, but new ones are stupid expensive. Thanks!
  2. We bought a used Kenmore refrigerator/freezer (Model# 795.75084401). Occasionally we find a puddle on the floor and ice on the bottom of the freezer. Eventually the ice builds up enough that the freezer drawer won't close completely and then we start getting ice on the stuff in the freezer. We clear out the ice and things are fine for a few days and then the water starts showing up again. What is going on and what can I do about it? Thanks, --Mike
  3. We've got a Magic Chef refrigerator model CTB1521GRW. It seems to have a clogged defrost drain tube and is leaking water onto the floor in front of it. I found a video on how to repair it but it's for a Kenmore, Sears, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Roper. ( youtube.com/watch?v=bj-8Hnhk4b0 ). I was wondering if it's the same setup for MagicChef or if there's a video or instructions that are? Thanks.
  4. The frig is leaking water onto the floor in the back right hand corner. I pulled it out and opened up the compressor compartment on the bottom. From what I can see, the water line goes into the filter, then to a splitter/valve component, where the ice maker line goes separately from the water dispenser line. The water dispenser line goes into the fridge compartment (I think) where I assume it gets cold in a reservoir before apparently coming out the bottom of the fridge in a water line that goes to the freezer door hinge into the door to the dispenser. Everything is dry in the compressor compartment and at least the dispenser line valve works fine. From the front of the fridge on the floor I can see the water drip from the line when the dispenser is on. I recently replaced the water filter and had great difficulty getting the filter up into the housing high enough for the threads to catch and allow me to screw the filter into place. Also, whenever someone uses the water dispenser, it now takes 5-10 seconds for the water to flow. Before the filter change the water started flowing almost instantly. Was it a mistake to prefill the filter full of water before trying to install it? Is this a water reservoir leak and is it expensive or difficult to fix?? TIA -Robert ps. Yes I created a new post earlier today. But this one has the model number in the title and a lot more information about the problem.
  5. My GE Monogram side by side model ZFSB23DRD leaks water onto the floor whenever someone uses the water dispenser. The leak is on the right side rear of the refrigerator and it's pretty clear that the water is flowing down the supply line between the water filter and the water dispenser. I recently replaced that water filter and had great difficulty getting the filter up into the housing high enough for the threads to catch and allow me to screw the filter into place. Also, whenever someone uses the water dispenser, it now takes 5-10 seconds for the water to flow. Before the filter change the water started flowing almost instantly. Did I somehow crack the water filter housing? and how does one remove it and replace it? Or is it something else entirely?? TIA, -Robert
