1. We have a Maytag we bought used a couple years ago, it was manufactured in 1993, model LAT5000AAW. We really like it and were disappointed when we found it was leaking a couple weeks ago. I researched it, and determined that the tub seal was leaking, so we ordered a new tub seal from RepairClinic and I followed a video on youtube, and put it in. Now, the machine had been running just fine before I discovered that it was leaking, and when we were looking for where it was leaking, the transmission was turning just fine while the machine was running. We didn't use the machine for about two weeks while waiting for me to have time to work on it. Today I put the new tub seal in, and upon testing it, we were glad to see it was no longer leaking. However, as we ran the machine we started smelling a burning smell and it was smoky (not sure exactly what was smoking, but I'm assuming the belts or motor over working), and we turned it off, and I realized that the transmission wasn't turning. I am not sure what to do because it had been working fine. Is it possible that the leaking water caused the transmission to seize up in the interim even though it had been running just fine the last time it was run two weeks ago? Should I be able to turn the transmission by hand? We are not sure if this is possible, as we didn't try it before. I have watched several videos and read several posts here and it seems like on some models it should turn, but am unsure about my model. The pulley on the bottom turns, but I tried turning the transmission itself and it does not turn. I don't know what to check here. Is there anything I should troubleshoot before assuming it is the whole transmission that is bad? One thing, I removed the outer tub because I thought it was necessary to replace the tub seal but then realized it wasn't. I cleaned it up since I had it out, and now I'm wondering it it's possible the tub bearing could cause it not to turn? The video I watched showed them replacing that but we looked at the tub bearing and the sleeve, we decided they were okay, RepairClinic didn't mention this as being a source of leaking, and we didn't have that part so we wiped it all down making sure it was clean, and put everything back together. I would think that if that was bad that would cause a noise and not stop the transmission from turning entirely, but I don't know for sure. I did not apply any lube to the sleeve, the video I watched didn't say to do that, but another video I saw after did. I am unsure if that could cause this problem. The machine is not making any weird noises, no grinding or anything. When we tried to run it again, just to try to troubleshoot, we observed that the agitator tried to turn, but then stopped. I don't want to damage the motor or anything else by running it. Just not sure at all what to do next. I hope this all makes sense, I've worked on this so many hours today and it is so late. Thank you all in advance for any advice or anything I could check or troubleshoot to see about fixing this.

12. I have a Maytag Admiral fridge (model LTF1812ARW, serial 10860086GL). The top fridge door shelf is cracked at both ends. I can't find this part anywhere. Is there a good way to make a substantial lasting repair that will also pass the wife's asthetics inspection? Ed

15. Hey guys, Got a Maytag Whirlpool side by side fridge model MFI2269VEM3 and yesterday morning the front panel had no lights of readings on the LED display. The inside is no longer cooling or freezing, however there is still power to the unit as the light on the inside is still on and if I push a button on the front panel all the lights lighs up and the display reads 8888 (ie, all possible number combinations). I tried various button combinations I found somewhere on the net to try to reset it. Tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. Neither worked unfortunately. Any idea what the problem could be? Bad control board I'm guessing but which? The dispenser or main? or maybe something else thats easier like a fuse or something? Any insights are appreciated! Thanks! Tweak
16. I have an ancient Maytag DE410 electric dryer that won't start. I have repaired it through the years but this has me stumped. I push "start" and nothing happens. - There is power - The "start" button works properly per my DMM - The "cycle" button works properly with 0 ohms when pushed, open when released - The three thermal fuses show 0 ohms - The timer switch appears to work properly. I get opens and closes on the three switches noted in the schematic when I turn the dial through the cycles. I can hear the motor and it appears to be turning - With power, the heater coil turns on when not in "fluff" cycle - The door switch works properly That got me to the motor and the centrifugal switch. How do I test this? It has the lever that activates the switch...is that lever normally down or normally up? What is the proper position and how do I test the switch paths? I have not jumped the motor directly with a patch cord. Which wires/connectors do I jump? I prefer to avoid this step if possible, but I may have to check it Any suggestions for troubleshooting this dryer? I am stumped thanks

21. This Maytag MDB4949SDM3 has been installed since February 2017 (yes, that's right, it's just barely out of warranty - the highly touted 10 year warranty applies to the tub, chopper !) Apparently the washer pump failed partway through the cycle while I slept last night. My detergent pack was partially dissolved and my dishes were partially washed. Setting it for a "rinse" cycle this morning to test it, the clock starts counting down from 7 minutes, the supply valve opens and lets water in, and then it sits silent for about 5 minutes, and then with 2 minutes left on the clock, the drain pump kicks on and drains the tub. No error messages are displaying and there's no feedback from the control system that there's a problem (no beeps or anything.) It would seem the washer pump just doesn't turn on after the tub fills with water. Since I had to leave the house and come to work, I didn't have a chance to do much troubleshooting - i.e., haven't had a chance to kill the power for a minute to "reboot" it. What should my next troubleshooting steps be? Checking the chopper blade for something jammed in it?

24. I need to order a tub seal kit for my Maytag Legacy Series washer but I can't find a model number on it anywhere. I've checked under the lid, on the back and behind the control panel which are the usual spots. I've also looked on each side, the front, in the tub, everywhere! It looks like there used to be a sticker on the back of control panel because there's some adhesive residue there. Anyway, I need to find a model number so I can order the right parts. My estimate is that the washer is about 10 years old. Here are some pics. http://s6.photobucket.com/user/2bucks/media/IMG_0805_zpsl4pw4zns.jpg.html
