  1. Dear Forum I've been at this for days trying to rule every other component out to make certain I order the right part to fix my Samsung DV350AGP/XAA Gas Dryer. The cycle runs, motor spins, controls and display respond normally. There is no heat. The igniter does not glow. There is no AC voltage on the igniter line when the dryer is spinning. I have first isolated and then conducted resistance tests on all the sensors as follows: Igniter resistance is 119Ω Thermostat located near the blower is 0Ω Hi-Limit Thermostat located on gas chamber reads 0Ω Radiant (flame) sensor reads 0Ω Thermistor reads 12Ω @ 67°F on the sensor and up at the motherboard as well. Tested the gas valves as well and all are according to manufacture spec at 1.39Ω / 1.28Ω / 0.57Ω Tested my belt cut-off switch, door switch and even the lamp are all right on spec. So now my attention is turned to the motherboard, there is little information out there on how to test the motherboard but I've tried to test the heater relay switch RY6, it does not change in resistance at any time during a drying cycle or when the dryer is powered off. Is this normal? when my meter is at VAC, i do pickup the following on the Heater Relay Switch: 0.092AC Voltage when dryer powered ON but not in a cycle 0.192AC Voltage when dryer is in a cycle (spinning) 0.187AC Voltage when dryer is powered OFF its so minor i fail to see its significance though unless the heat relay is using this small amount of voltage to trigger another relay somewhere else I have yet to find. Should the heater relay close circuit when the dryer is running and its failure to do so means the on board relay is bad? Have i tested it properly? i just pulled the RY6 header off and Ohms tested pin 1 to pin 2 and go nothing, started the dryer and still got nothing. Can anyone take a stab at helping me determine if my motherboard is bad or if its a bad wiring issue or did I overlook a sensor or relay test? MUCH APPRECIATED! My neighbors are getting tired of drying our laundry for us. Thanks!

Hey Everyone, Need a little help diagnosing my Samsung french door fridge/freezer. The freezer side seems to have a very hard time cooling down to the temperature I set it to. The fridge on the other hand is fine. All of the cooling/circulation fans work as they are supposed to. When I pulled the back panels off to expose the evaporator coils I noticed that the freezer side was frosted right up on the top of the coils but not so much on the bottom. IN my research it looks like that could be a restriction to the flow of refrigerant. Then I learned that there is a thing called a 3 way step motor valve. Which diverts the flow of refrigerant to either the fridge or freezer. and if that gets stuck on the freezer only cool mode, the fridge wont cool, if it gets stuck on both fridge freezer mode then it will still work.. just with more energy. What I believe is happening is that it is stuck on the fridge only cooling mode as the freezer seems to be getting very little flow of coolant. I found a tech trouble shooting tip here Samsung troubleshooting It super little information on troubleshooting the step motor valve other than to test the resistance between the common and the 4 phases of the motor, all of the phases should be 40 ohms + or - 10%. I have verified that the windings are all good. from what I can tell it seems as though the portion of the valve that actually move back and forth is stuck... it does not seem like there is a way to move it by hand? or how could i trick it to move? Does anyone know how to check the "signal" to the valve? All I see on the wire diagram is a 13v common and 4 phases... but that doesnt tell me which direction its moving, what setting its in etc... Sorry for the longggg right up. I would super appreciate any info anyone has on this topic

  12. So I had an independent tech come out and he agreed that it smelled like Freon and noted that it was a closed system issue, had to have Samsung come out so it would be covered under the 5 year warranty. Samsung tech agreed that it smelled like Freon, called his supervisor who told him (without seeing anything) it can't be because the unit is still cooling. He checked the frost pattern and said there was one but not over the whole thing. He didn't check the freezer. Tech installed a new ice maker and left. He said if it's refrigerant we would smell kit again when the it gets cool. Unit started cooling and was at 45 degrees, then I checked again and it was 64, then I hit power cool again and it finally made back to the set temp of 37. Opened the middle drawer and I smelled it again. ANy ideas what I have going on?

  15. Many techs have trouble interpreting a schematic diagram and understanding how to use it for troubleshooting. In this webinar, held on March 29, 2019, we used a Samsung electric dryer and a GE double oven as case studies to review electric circuit principles and troubleshooting. Some of the topics we talked about: Neutral sensing in Samsung dryers: what that means, what it does, and how it affects troubleshooting Series and parallel circuits and how to identify them on a real-world schematic Voltage in a circuit as a DIFFERENCE in voltage between two points How it can be useful to use a reference other than Neutral for your voltage measurements when troubleshooting; Line can be a reference, too! Properly interpreting your meter reading based on your reference Using the Ten Step Tango to troubleshoot Developing troubleshooting strategies to do all your troubleshooting from the main control board Unique features in Samsung dryers to be aware of when troubleshooting a no-heat complaint.
