hello to all those with a frigidaire dishwasher showing the error code i30 and the drain pump continuously running..... i think i have a (at least temporary) solution!!! (bottom of post) apparently this is a systemic problem with a poorly designed pressure switch that get clogged with food and grease causing the above symptoms. the long term fix would be to get the updated sensor= 5304504077 Pressure Sensor , but for now...... background info: put dishes in washer without rinsing them first. some had bits of salad still on them. ran a normal cycle, emptied dishes. half hour later the drain pump just starts running, error code i30 displayed, sump is empty, door is open...?? so i turned off the breaker to the washer. SOLUTION 1) put two scoops of "BIO CLEAN" with a quart of water into the dishwasher ( https://www.gonzocart.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=290&language=en¤cy=USD ), 2) used a zip tie to poke around the pressure sensor opening to loosen any food particles. you need a flexible thingy to reach into the opening of the sensor from the sump. 3) waited 24 hours 4) turned on the breaker....drain pump does stays off, no error code, operating panel displays normally. 5) ran the rinse cycle. the contents of the dishwasher backs up into the kitchen sink showing both the BIO CLEAN stuff and bits of salad. ran the disposal to clear, cycle finishes normally! drain pump does not later turn on by itself. SUCCESS so, guess i will have to preclean the plates and occasionally use the bio clean just in case.

Ice Forming Under Freezer Drawer in a Samsung RF4287HARS French Door Refrigerator
Anne Searles Reel posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
I have ice building up in the bottom of the freezer compartment on my Samsung RF4287HARS French Door Refrigerator, below the pull out drawer. It will build up to about 3/4"-1" thick and then impedes the closing of the door. Every 4-6 weeks, I need to remove the freezer drawer, melt and chop the ice and put everything back in. I have been doing this for three years on a 5 year old fridge. Samsung Customer Service is ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. What causes this? And can I fix it myself? -
Kenmore Washing Machine VMW Model 2130 (P/N W10420384A) not spinning and draining every time
metallicviper posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
Error Codes after using Diagnostic Setting: F9E1 - drain pump system problem - long drain F0E2 - Over Suds Detected This issue has been on/off over the last few weeks – and we were able to deal with it until now. Basically what happens, is the load starts washing and then it just stops when it gets to “spin”. Sometimes it just shows the red “lid lock” light only. When I cancel it and look inside, either the clothes are pretty wet but no sitting water (i.e. it drained but didn’t spin) or there’s a ton of water still there (didn’t drain or spin). We’ve been able to cancel the cycle – manually move it to the “drain and spin” setting and it would normally work at that point to finish off the load. We use high efficiency detergent and I took the drain apart and looked for anything blocking it – found nothing. The drum does freely turn so it can spin as it does occasionally work as well. All that said, now it makes a weird buzzing sound when you try to choose anything with the dial (attached recording). Please help! TL;DR – Washer begins the wash – then doesn’t spin or drain. Error codes F9E1 and F0E2 -
Kenmore 110.28002012 washer, reprogram drain cycles?
granmadave posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
Hi, folks, my drain sink drains rather slowly, but my washer drains rather quickly. It does stop after a certain point to allow the sink to catch up, but only after a few gallons have found their way to the floor (not all the time, just under very interesting conditions, like washing a comforter). Anyway, before I go crazy trying to make a hack using a float switch, is there a built-in way to reprogram the unit to drain less water before pausing? Arigato! -
Maytag top load LAT9706AAE will not drain/spin on normal load selection
MamaCanDoIt posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
Maytag Top loader washer LAT9706AAE Washer will not spin/drain when the load is set to "normal" wash load. I can get it to spin out on the "delicate" load selection on the dial. I am thinking it is the timer. I am perplexed though, because the "on" light still lights up even on the non functioning spin cycles on the Washer? I can not tell from the wiring diagram if it will light "on" to tell you it is getting power, even if the "spin" cam is out on it? Mama needs to get diaper laundry washed and is on a crazy tight budget. Is it likely the timer and is it worth ordering such an expensive part? I have kept her alive this long, she is kind of like family! Thank you! -
Miele G881 SCI dishwasher intake/drain problem
Saphira2021 posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
Type HG01 Intake/Drain starts blinking within 2-3 minutes from start then the time on the wash goes to zero even if it read over 2 hours seconds before. Before this happened, it also didn't drain completely after it was done. We have taken the filter on the bottom out and cleaned it, but it was not clogged in the first place. Machine is about 10 years old and we never had problems with it before now. Not sure what other info I can provide. Help please. Thank you-

Whirlpool Washer 7MTAWS800 tub spins while draining
komputodo posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
On my old whirlpool diect drive coupler washer, I have a problem I can't figure out. After the pause from agitating and it starts to drain, it immediately starts spinning while draining. If I hold the tub at the start, it drains normally but when i let it go, it starts spinning. If i hold the tub more than 2 minutes or so, I think I smell a burning odor. I've swapped out the complete transmission and the timer with known good ones from my other machine and the same thing happens. The only thing left that I can think of is the brake but I'm not sure how that is supposed to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -
hello i have a frigidaire professional dishwasher ( http://www.frigidaire.com/Owner-Center/Product-Support--Manuals/?productCode=FPID2497RF) problem=the drain pump runs continuously, even with the door open and the dishwasher sump empty. background, the dishwasher finished a cycle normally. i opened the door, emptied dishes. then, a half hour later the drain pump just turned on despite the door being opened the no water left in the dishwasher. i turned off the power using the breaker for a half hour, filled the sump with a half liter of water to see if it was leaking out, and it wasnt, flipped the breaker on, sump emptied and the pump once again continued to run . i removed the kick plate and didnt see any water on the floor under the dishwasher. Note, i even pressed the "start/cancel" button for 10 seconds and that did not do anything to stop the pump or reset the unit. ***************there is an error code 30 which is identified as a leak or overflow of water has been detected in the bottom of the pan. researching on the web, i have found similar issues with other dishwashers and the advice was to pull the unit out and tip it forward or backward to empty the water from the pan (and on to the floor). the other solution that was posed was to clean out the pressure sensor as it was gummed up with grease. why would the sump drain pump run if there was water in the drip pan? how do i get to and remove the pressure sensor to inspect and clean it? is there a way to inspect the drip for leaked water and use suction to remove it? advice?

F-P Dishdrawer DD603 not draining, can't get in to harware output test mode
PEvans posted a topic in DIY Appliance Repair Help
One of the drawers stopped draining. I successfully tested the rotor and drain using the hardware test mode. Now I find I can't get in to the hardware test mode for either drawer using Keylock + Start/Pause (could be user error?). Instead, it goes into some sort of delay countdown setting. FWIW I have already addressed the classic "dishdrawer won't drain" problems with twin inlet air gap, upgraded pivot link support and upgraded lid actuators.- 7 replies

Hi everyone, I haven't been on the Samurai Appliantology forum for awhile but thought this the place to ask a question about GE Washers. More specifically, we bought a GTW180SSJ0WW 4.2 washer last year only to find that the drain hose was a 2-piece design with a solid plastic tube inside the washer that mounted on the external back wall of the washer and the actual flexible drain hose 'fits' into the flexible rubber connector on the back of the washer. We accidentally moved the washer too close to the wall on the back side of the washer where this connection is made bumping this connection - and it started to leak. It's only a friction-fit with a flexible-nylon clamp that maintains the fit of the flexible drain hose in the rubber gasket with two machine screws into the washer back side. By reseating the connection and refastening the screws on the flat-nylon clamp; the drain hose doesn't leak but we can't move the washer back the 1 inch in order to close the bi-fold doors that cover the small laundry closet. We saw GE has a newer model of our older washer, by the new Model - GTW460ASJ0WW; which looks basically the same but they completely changed the Drain hose connection in the back. It's now a solid plastic pipe that comes out of a 'recessed' area in the washer's back wall panel and the drain hose CLAMPS onto this piece with a regular drain hose wire-clamp (compression) - no friction fit, no leaking... I'd like to convert our older washer Drain connection to this type but wondered if someone on the Forum knew if this was possible. I've already tried using an 8' Eastland Universal replacement Washer Drain hose - which worked wonderful for 6 months - and then the seam welds on the PVC hose started separating. I discovered that this is a continuing problem. Reason I mention this is if anyone knows of a better quality replacement drain hose that comes in an 8' length and 1 1/8" connector to the washer pump, I could work with that. I see some offered by Samsung, Haier & LG for their specific washer drains that 'look' like they might work fine but I can't seem to find whether they come in an 8' length... Thanks, greynold99

I have a problem with my dishwasher and I'm not sure where to look for the problem. The dishwasher runs normally and it drains properly EXCEPT for the finally cycle. Then it leave clear clean water about two inches deep in the bottom of the dishwasher. The pump is working because I can hear and see the water moving through the drain hose into the Disposal. I've looked online but from what I've been able to find NO Where can I find anything stating this model has a Check Valve or Float, if anyone knows differently please let me known as I have no idea what is causing this issue.

These check valves are a frequent cause for defrost drain blockages and freeze ups. Even the redesigned check valve has the same problem. There's a modification that can be done to mitigate the problem. See this post: http://appliantology...t-refrigerator/-
