  2. Hi all, I am not sure what to do about this, but am hoping someone here can offer some direction. We have recently (and finally) gotten a dishwasher, which was gifted to us by a friend (it had been sitting in their garage unused.) It is a Bosch "Serie 4" 46db model number SMS46GW01A/01. There isn't space in any of our small kitchen to put it, so we put it next to the kitchen bench - we had a plumber come and drill some holes, and attach some "extension" hoses to the water intake and outtake to the supplied ones. The dishwasher worked great for two weeks, and now has developed an issue. It's a BOSCH "Serie 4" 46db, with the model number SMS46GW01A/01. While working initially, it now seems to run for a short while (10 minutes?) on any of the washing programs, and then stop with the "Check Water" error lit. We've cleaned all the filters, but it looks like it is obtaining water (at least for a while) as the bottom of the dishwasher is full of water when the program stops. Draining also seems to work, as if I start another program, it will drain it all out. Our guess - Is this likely low water pressure due to the length of the hose, that may have been borderline when it worked and now has dipped for some reason? Perhaps it only needs low pressure in the first phase, but demands more in the later one? Or perhaps some sort of blockage in the water intake or the wastewater pump?. Should we: 1) call a plumber 2) call a bosch technician 3) is there something we can do ourselves? Thanks in advance. Hilary and Richard.
  3. Just a couple of quick questions regarding fill and fill times. 1. Am I correct in assuming that this dishwasher has a timed fill period? Or is it perhaps level based. From what I have manually timed, it appears to be very close to two minutes. I presume the float is only a safety mechanism to prevent any overfill situations 2. What should the proper/correct water level be immediately after a fill cycle? I recently had some plumbing work done with the DHW supply line and the plumber didn't purge the DHW line properly when he was done. I realized this after I found sediment in my bathroom faucet shortly after he left. I DID purge it correctly at that point. I am pretty sure the dishwasher wasn't run prior to me flushing the DHW line. But I don't want to pull the dishwasher out unless I have good reason too. Thank you.
  4. My Whirlpool side by side fridge model number WRS325FDAM02 has a stuck water filter. After opening the access door, the filter should pop out a bit, i guess, in order to pull it out for replacement. But it doesn't. This model has no button to push, but an access door at the bottom left of the fridge. The filter should, according to Whirlpool, just pop out when the door is opened right-to-left. Tried pliers on the end of the filter, but the end of the filter is rounded and gripping it from the end is impossible. Removed lower grating to see if that help with access, but it doesn't. Water filter hasn't been changed in 5 years! LOL... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. How do I insert an image? I’m using an iPad. Thanks.
  6. Hello, I finally installed a Kenmore dishwasher 587.14249991 that I bought 2nd hand and had put in storage for a while. When I turned it on, the motor started (it was making motor noises at least), but no water came in. The water valve under the sink is open, of course. I replaced the water inlet valve, that did not solve the problem. The overflow switch is good, at least according to my multimeter reading. What else could it be? Thank you!

  8. My 2.5 year old GE washer won't fill the tub. It runs for a second several times, like it always has, but then instead of filling the tub with water, it goes straight into the wash mode. It might put a little water in there, but not enough to cover the clothes. Both hot and cold valves are turned on. It doesn't matter which laundry size I select and hitting the "Deep Fill" button does nothing, except turn the light on. I'm thinking water level sensor. What kind of fix is that? Thanks!
  9. I have a White-Westinghouse freezer model MFC05M0BW1 that was in a basement that flooded, taking on maybe 4 inches of water. It was plugged in at the time and doesn't work now. Is it ruined? How do I check? I have a multimeter and lots of tools, and tend to be pretty good at fixing things. Thanks.
