  3. My Whirlpool refrigerator (Model# WRX735SDMB00) ice maker started pouring water out of the ice maker. Last night I heard the ice drop and then the water come on to fill the ice tray but it didn't shut off for about 60 seconds, so by that time the tray was overflowing and the water came pouring out. I just turned the ice maker off for the night and this morning tried the reset that I found online of unplugging the refrigerator for 5 minutes. The first time it filled after doing that, it did it properly, but the next time, a few hours later, it overflowed again. Any ideas what this could be? My googling is coming up empty. Thanks in advance!
  4. Whirlpool Refrigerator MODEL GB8SHKXKQ00 ISSUE: The fridge and freezer don't stay cold. The fridge gets to 46°F -52°F and the freezer isn't freezing water. ACTIONS: the dials in fridge and freezer are both set to max cold. first we cleaned the coils which are under the fridge and got a lot of dirt out. But it had no effect. Then cleaning more, even took off the back shield From behind the fridge and cleaned. ISSUE: Fridge and freezer still not staying cold. While cleaning We noticed A bunch of ice behind the shield on the back of The exterior of the fridge. So we looked directly on the other side of that and took the back of the interior of the freezer apart and noticed the whole part back there was iced up bad, so bad that the ice was coming out if the back of the fridge exterior. ACTION: we let the fridge thaw out and the next day the fridge got cold again but then later that day the same symptoms returned as if we had done nothing. The fridge was not staying cold and the ice is starting to appear again from the lower Center exterior back of the fridge, where wires and a tube goes in. the defrost timer Is at the bottom right front Of the exterior of the fridge and it seems to be functioning correctly. The drain tube doesn't seem to be clogged. I haven't checked anything with a multi meter thanks
  5. I have an old Whirlpool fridge — a 1993 model called ET20LKXAN00 which Whirlpool's customer service portal doesn't even remember! — which has a malfunctioning door light switch (part WP2149705). I got a replacement but I can't remove the assembly that covers the switch. It's probably easy but I removed the three screws I could see on the bottom, yanked it back and forth, up and down, and got nowhere! I would very much appreciate any knowledge or ideas on the matter.
  6. Hello all! First time poster so forgive my noob mistakes. I have a whirlpool 5 door fridge that I’m flipping, or was the plan. The lady I got it from said that the freezer froze over and then the door alarm wouldn’t stop going off. I’ve checked the freezer section and I can’t find any indication that it ever froze over. I can however find that the eBay fan in the refrigerator section is not running and not getting power. From what I believe is due to the door switch. to date: ive probes all the leads. No power to evaporate fan. door switches all tested out with correct ohms. But the voltage is at 6, not 120 as information suggests it should be. I’ve replaced 3 of the 5 door switches. Still nothing. I’ve tried jumping/bypassing the last two remaining door switches, still a no go. the pantry door control is functioning as expected, and I read where one could disconnect the pantry door and this would correct the situation. Not with this unit! I’ve traced pantry control wiring back to where it enters the wall of the unit. Unhooked it deom that junction and inspected each wire for breaks, nada! tge LED lighting turns off after 5 minutes. And I have to unplug it and reconnect before they will come back on. the refrigerator will not run (compressor) unless I put it into test mode and then take it out manually. Once I do this I can get the compressor to turn on and start cooling. But of course the wrap starts to freeze over after a few minutes because the evap fan isn’t working. I’m on the third evap fan! The first one was dead, the second one was DOA and now this one. That so far tests out. I’ve actually started to use another fan, just as a crash test dummy so if it is the board drying them it will dry an old computer cooling fan and I’ll still have the good fan. Lol. im at a loss. The aurora board is mentioned in a few posts out there. I’ve inspected it connection by connection. But nothing has been discovered. On boards like these I generally repair them, since I’m not in a position for parts markup. The main board I’ve proved as well. Power is at all the proper points, but even this board I’ve tested and nothing. Any ideas on what to check next. Aside from my blood pressure and my insanity level. This unit is becoming my arch nemesis. I would normally walk away from it, and have 3 times already. But my sister seen it and now she wants it. Can anyone help With a service manual or any advice??? if I’ve left out anything or if you have questions for me, please post them here and I’ll respond ASAP. thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of the site. ~DIYChick

  9. Hi! newbie here! i've got a whirlpool dw WDT750SAHZ0 that has worked fine for over 6 months of daily use -- i bought it from a "scratch-n-dent" store. just yesterday, dw lights showed "clean." i oped the dw, and the dishes were all dirty. tried to run it again, then realized there's no water getting into dw. i checked the float, and i hear a faint "click," so i'm thinking that part is ok. i put the dw into a cycle mode, and i do hear a motor which i'm assuming would be a water pump running, but inside is dry as a bone when i open it up. now i'm assuming it's the water inlet valve. (that being said, i do have a mouse problem -- little bugger just chewed up my printer power chord. could mickey have eaten some of the wiring on the water inlet valve?) sidenote: i did check the water supply and it's on, as always -- it's just saddled into my hot water supply for my kitchen sink so it's can't be off unless i turn it off at the source. since we live way out in appalachia, finding an appliance repairman will be an exercise in extreme patience, and i'd like to be able to at least give him a hint before he drives all the way out here, only to find he doesn't have my particular water inlet valve. i was wanting to run a diagnostic test. unfortunately, there is no instruction on how to do so with this model. the only instructions i've found say to hit the "rinse" cycle. there is no "rinse" cycle on this model. it's got "sensor/heavy/normal/1-hour wash/soak & clean." there's no display either. on the other hand, am i just "pissin' up a drain pipe" even bothering with a whirlpool self-diagnostic? is it of any value? oh, did i mention that being the scaredy cat that i am, in order to block the mouse, i sprayed copious amounts of foam insulation into every crevice i could find, including the sides of the dw kickplate? 😳 thanks in advance! wendy 🙂
  10. Was Gifted a slightly used, unworking Whirlpool electric dryer. It won't heat up. Replaced all of the common problems. (heating element, upper limit thermo, thermostat control, 2 different fuses, pigtail). Only thing left would be the wiring and the controls. There is evidence of mice living inside the control panel, and one of them chewed thru insulation on one of the timer wires (white-blue). I was able to read continuity from the exposed wire to the terminal. I think I'm on the right track. Any advice? Looks like the only path from the chewed wire would be to ground. Is that enough to short the timer? I don't know how to add individual images from Google photos so here's a link to my Google photos https://photos.app.goo.gl/coLz9wDQjMa4aL8M6
