  2. Hi, I need tour help. I have a whirlpool wrx988sibm01 four door refrigerator. None of fhe compartments are cooling. Compressor isn't coming on. I checked the compressor (VEGZ 7H) it checks out good. Equal 6.8ohm across all windings/ terminals. No continuity to ground for any of the terminals. All fans appear to work. As soon as i turn on power First, icemaker fan comes ON, then condensor fan comes ON, then after a while the icemaker fan goes OFF and top compartment fan comes ON. Then after a while the freezer evaporator fan comes ON. Once the condensor fan turns ON, it stays ON. But the compressor never comes ON. Then i checked the inverter (W10154805; VCC3 1156 19 A 52): It is receiving 110v. The control voltage reads 7.14vdc, is it too high. Your video spoke of 4-6vdc for control voltage. I also checked the output voltage from the inverter. 3 being the bottom terminal in the upside down triangular configuration of terminals and G being ground. (inverter should be putting out 230v 53-153hz), can't tell if this is ac vs. dc and how to measure for this 230v reading, i.e. across which terminals etc. So measure what i could and here are my readings: G-1 = 167vdc; G-2 = 154vdc; G-3 = 154vdc 1-2 = 317vdc; 1-3 = 317vdc; 2-3 = 0vdc I looked for current draw on one of the 110v wire coming to inverter, it never went past 0.03Amps, consistent with the low power fans that came ON, but never the compressor. Now, i am at my wits end, with no path to troubleshoot the issue. Can someone please help. Thanks in advance to anyone willing and able to help me.
  3. So I bought this fancy Panasonic Fridge Freezer 6 years ago, it had an inverter compressor and the company was new to the market... the device itself was merely OK (it chilled alright, but the water dispenser was slow and somehow warmer than it came out of my normal tap! and the freezer food got crystals on it regularly) but slowly other owners posted tales of woe online with devices failing, poor support and eventually Panasonic exited the market. On Friday night though, the device just died - it acted as if it had been unplugged. To be fair to Panasonic, the service manual online is great and very comprehensive - https://www.manualslib.com/manual/871900/Panasonic-Nr-B53v1.html (v1 and v2 models virtually identical) and there's even a wiring diagram on the back of the machine. It says to check: Voltage of the supply Power Cord Motor Protector or Reactor Control PCB Now, the power and cord is fine, and power is going from the Control PCB to the Reactor OK at 240v. The Motor Protector has continuity. I've luckily found someone selling the $500 PCB for $50 online, it should arrive next week. I'm a little concerned that the online reviews mention Panasonic technicians not being able to diagnose similar faults and basically dumping the machine which suggests the 4 recommended steps might not be enough. The PCB doesn't have anything obviously wrong with it, and seems a bit strange to die after this time when the caps seem ok and it's outputting voltage to the reactor. I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on How to test the reactor Any PCB tests that can be done to build confidence that its replacement will fix the issue Any other diagnosis that can be done Thanks
  4. I have a Samsung Refrigerator model RFG295AARS. The compressor is not running & I am trying to figure out why. I read the posting on new inverter compressors so I tested resistance on the compressor, each of the 3 windings. The results were 9.4 ohms for each of them. In the posting it mentioned that I should refer to the technical specifications for the compressor to determine what the resistance should be. Although I have the owners manual, and the service manual, neither of them have that kind of information. The compressor part number is : AP4442932 / or BK190CL2C/E01. Any idea where I can access that info? Since all 3 windings had the same resistance I've moved forward under the assumption that the compressor is good. Any recommendations on how to proceed from here? Thanks in advance!

  7. Hi: Whirlpool Refrigerator Dual Evaporator WRF989SDAM00 I have been trying to get this working properly for a while now. Initially I determined a leak, found the leak on the RC evaporator and repaired it. Held 100 PSI nitrogen for a couple days, vacuum, and recharged with R134a 5.5 oz. Now it does this: On warm startup the refrigerator section cools down as it is supposed to as I understand. This unit cools one evaporator at a time. So the RC goes down to around 36.3F or so on my K-type thermometer at the RC fan output. That seems normal enough because the front panel setting is 37F. So then it goes to cool the freezer section. I see the freezer temp coming down on my second Ktype thermometer lead at the FC evaporator outlet, but does not ever get the freezer section cold enough. Front panel setting is 0F for the freezer. It goes down alright into the 40F and under area. But not lower. My suction pressure was a little too high seems to me. Would not go below 18 to 20 PSIG. I removed some refrigerant gas so it is drawing down to 6 to 10 PSIG now. But that is not the solution. It seems to me the compressor is just not drawing down enough to reduce the suction pressure to near 0 PSIG where it needs to be. So here's my question for now. What is the DC voltage into the compressor start inverter supposed to be doing during all this? The 120VAC into the compressor start inverter is solid. The 3-6 VDC into the inverter just stays at 3.4xx all the time, no matter what. Shouldn't this be varying to increase the compressor speed and therefore draw the suction pressure lower? What am I thinking wrong or missing here? I got this for nothing and as a project but would really like to troubleshoot it correctly. Thanks for any ideas/experience.

  10. Hello and thanks for this excellent resource! Whirlpool side by side fridge model EC3JHAXRL00. She quit cooling. No compressor, no fan. After unplugging to disassemble, then plugging in to check voltages, fan came on. Later fan did not come on. About a month ago I replaced the capacitor to the fan and she has run fine until now. Capacitor still looks good and is tight in motherboard (MOBO). I read the post below and am trying to determine if the inverter is bad or the motherboard. Here are my numbers: Compressor 9.6 ohms all three terminals = check Power input to inverter = 220 V AC ==check I get no current draw on the feed while all connected and power on. SO, I suspect the inverter. I could not reach the J15 terminals on MOBO, so checked at plug to inverter = 3.3 V DC. Post below indicates should be 4-6 V DC. Is this a case where values can vary between models or is my inverter not getting enough voltage? If so, does this explain why no current draw from inverter? Questions: which one is bad, inverter or MOBO (main control) board, or both. Any other tests? Should the fan come on regardless if the inverter is bad? Or is it being off normal because after all, compressor is not hot? Thanks for any help. Food is in coolers, so it's either fix it ASAP or time for new one!

  16. I have a Viking refrigerator model vcbb363rss. The problem is the compressor is not turning on at all. I checked the inverter and it is bad. I took it apart and there was some brown fluid in there and one of the capacitors has exploded. The other capacitor has a pretty big bulge. Problem is the model number on the inverter is vcc3 1156 02a 03. This inverter is not sold anymore. Is there a new inverter that will replace it and if so part/model number? Thanks in advance for your help!
  17. Can anyone shed some expert light on my problem of a Panasonic Refrigerator Freezer please ? Its Model NR-B30FX1 (Same as a NR-B30FW1/FG1) an Inverter. I have started to pull what little hair I have left on my head trying to fix it and its probably something easy and I can afford to purchase a part to fit it myself :-) The description is a bit long but want to provide as much info as possible. The unit is just over 5 years old and has worked perfectly but was working harder, little more noise from the compressor/unit and then one morning the low temp alarm was sounding and no cooling was occurring. The power is on, all lights on the Refrigerator working when doors opened, front Control/Temp set Display is working but showing lowest default temp for Freezer/ Refrigerator /Vegetable compartments. There is no frost or icing in the freezer (FC) compartment, and the three phase DC inverter compressor and VC Freezer Fan is not running in normal mode. I have stood up the Refrigerator for a few days and let it dry out, but to no avail no difference powering it back on. This Refrigerator has a front display panel for temp setting and fast freezer etc, which attaches to Man PCB with the micro computer, and has a separate Inverter board which supplies power to the compressor and the Main PCB. In a nutshell I need some advice on how to fault the inverter board and compressor, and how to detect a IPM start signal is being sent to the inverter board from the Main PCB, the proving of the output voltage/frequency/ and finally prove compressor not faulty/locked up please ? I have watched a good video on here for faulting an inverter Refrigerator but it had a dedicated inverter board with J15 two wire control link, where mine has a major inverter board. but it did allow me to prove the windings were okay on the inverter and to understand an inverter Refrigerator . Main PCB I have checked all voltages, and relays are okay for VCC heater and Defrost heater. Don't know ho to tell its telling the inverter board to switch on though. I am handy with a multimeter and basic electronics, so have downloaded the service manual and tried the Test Control checks;- Compulsion FC start - s/c Test Terminal 1 & 3, starts both Refrigerator (PC) Fan and Freezer (FC) Fans. the s/c Test 0 (Zero) Point and Gnd does not start the Compressor but the 'C' indication comes on the front panel. There are other Test points on both PCB but do not have any info for what they do, and the self diagnostic function on the front display module is just blank (dash/dash). Compressor I have measured the compressor windings on Con703, and all appear good at 6.9 Ohms, and meggered them to Eth and no issues. The protector is fine. I have on my multimeter with a KHz frequency setting but only see a brief flash of KHz on each terminal of three W,U &V), and flash of voltage, not enough to prove consistency. Sensors/Thermisters Checked resistance of all sensors for resistance out of cct and in cct, the voltages look good. I can't find the ATC Sensor on the wiring and schematic diagram, which is used to determine difference between other sensors and ambient temp I think, so this could be faulty but unable to test it? Inverter Board/ I have checked all voltages, and the Bridge rectifier working, but the Intelligent Power Module (IPM700) SLA6805M, is cold or the heat sink is anyway. So don't know to test the control signal into it to prove its being told to switch on and prove the output voltages ?? Help Please ?? Power on Start up Sequence Both Fans operate on power up, 3 way valve makes a noise, damper step motor does a cycle, but no noise on the compressor, and a blip of voltage/frequency on the outputs from inverter board to Compressor (terms W, V and U) I can't find a full component cct diagram of the PCB boards or much on proving the inverter complicated cct. There is a data sheet on the IPM but looks complex. But now basically stuck.
  18. I just bought a used speed queen CTS99AWN (Manufactured 2006) stackable washer and dryer and it works great up until the rinse and spin cycles. During the fill and wash cycles the drum agitates the clothes 15 seconds clockwise, rests for 9 seconds, and the spins 15 seconds counter-clockwise as it should. However, during the rinse cycles the drum spins for 20-30 seconds at 500rpm and then stops and doesn't spin the rest of the rinse or spin cycle. The rinse function continues as it should, filling with water and pumping it out, followed by the spin cycle with the pump turning on but again it does not spin. The motor leads ohms resistance are within range so the motor is good. Indicator LEDs show NO error codes being generated, the washing machine technically doesn't know that it's not spinning in the rinse and spin cycles. My question is, does the machine control tell the motor control inverter what to do? Is this a problem with my machine control unit or motor control inverter unit? Thank you for any help!-Steven K ps. Belt is in good shape and wiring all looks brand new under the washer. Door switch is fully functional.
