  2. I need the service manual thx
  3. need service manual, thanks
  4. i have spent over 10 hours in testing and replacing all the components (hall effect rotor position sensor, (o.e. part) the sub harness to the hall effect sensor and stator, stator ohms on all 3 legs at 12.5 ohms (5-15 ohms is specific value) the main harness from the computer to the motor (all 3 wires) continuity check. the motor when self tested just jiggles back and forth will not spin or agitate. I get rpm change on the spin by hand test, magnets are all in position and no cracking so its seeing the trigger signal to flip the polarity for clockwise and counter clockwise spin motion. it goes one wat 2 inches and trys to turn over, the drum is free turning as soon as i break power to the coil so nothing is jammed. no grinding (rotor hub good) no scraping, no water stains on bearing, spider coupler is good no noise or play in the main bearings. so then i replace everything in the control circuits (pcm Main, the inline filter, the door switch, the rest works (drain and fill) and all the opertaions are book. HELP PLEASE
  5. This LG refrigerator was DOA- warm inside, no compressor operation, no lights, no nuttin'. Found a blown fuse on the main control board. What took out the fuse: bad board or just a spike on the power line? I show how to check for that. The fuses on these LG boards are soldered in and not easily replaceable. But a new fuse can be installed and I show how to do that without even having to remove the board, while it's still installed in the refrigerator. 6. I have a Kenmore French door / bottom freezer - Model 795.72053.110 that we purchased in June of 2011. This has a LG Linear Compressor. We just came back from vacation and discovered the refrigerator was running but not cooling anymore. Everything was defrosted. We found out that while we were away the power had gone out for a few hours and then come back on. The compressor is running but only slightly warm. Condenser and Circulating fans are running. Coils are not frozen and only get to about 40 degrees. I unplugged the frig for 1/2 hour last night and then plugged it back in. It ran all night and this morning it was still warm. The compressor is running constantly. I tested the resistance of the compressor and it reads between 6.8 and 7.1 ohms (one of the posts reads open but I think that's normal on a linear compressor). Is this a variable speed compressor? Could it be a circuit board problem due to the power outage or do you think this is an internal compressor or freon problem. I've read that these linear compressors are not reliable. According to my manual, the compressor is supposed to be under warranty for 10 years but NOBODY at Sears will verify that without me paying for technician to come out. I'm also afraid that even if I replace the compressor the system may be contaminated if there was an internal failure in the compressor. I watched a few videos of people tearing down these compressors and they seem to find that an internal valve goes bad and leaves behind a lot of metal shavings. I don't want to waste any money on this frig if it's not worth fixing. Thank you for any help.

  8. Good morning all, I have an LG top freezer fridge that was not doing anything at all except turning on the light in the fresh food section. Both the condensor and evaporator fans werent running and the compressor was not kicking on. Also, there was no display or led lights on the temperature display in the fresh food section. I was able to bypass the main motherboard by using an insulated wire and the compressor kicked on and started to cool so I replaced the main motherboard. Now the unit is cooling properly and all fans are running, but still no display on the temp control. When the door switch is triggered it shuts the light off so I dont believe it is an issue with the door switch circuit. Is there a possibility the DC voltage that is supposed to go to the display board is being pulled from someone else? Im kind of lost on this one. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  14. New to the forum, tech with 4yrs experience just getting back into the field after 11 years in the military, so playing catch-up on new stuff. On LG refrigerators with the linear compressors with no cooling, I've been consistently reading anywhere between 600-1500 VAC on the CON201 terminals to the compressor, whether the connecter is hooked up or not. Several of my fellow techs have seen this as well. LG says the max VAC output to the comp should be ~180VAC. I've never had any issues with my Fieldpiece meter. Am I doing something wrong or is my meter insufficient for LGs?

  20. Hello can someone advise how to install the door seal properly? The washing machine was leaking water under the door seal. I have replaced it and tested the machine on a wash cycle. It no longer leaks but the seal is rubbing against the drum when it spins. It squeals while spinning, and started smoking and melting the rubber. I re-installed the leaking seal to check how it fit against the drum. There was a gap of 2mm so it did not touch the drum anywhere. The new seal is definitely wider on the section that touches the drum. Does this need to be trimmed before installation? Looking forward to an easy fix! Thanks
